Hi,
We would like some more information.
1. Are all your non-Yoast plugins and themes also updated?
2. Can you confirm you are using WordPress 5.6? You can check by clicking on the W in the top left and selecting About. If you need to update, please check with your host provider. Please know that if you are using an older version of WordPress Core you may experience unexpected behavior with Yoast. This guide explains more: https://yoast.com/why-we-dont-support-old-wordpress-versions/.
3. Can you elaborate more on what you are expecting to appear as the title and meta for https://prosportsoutlook.com/nba-game-reviews-january-22-2021/?
4. When you duplicate a post, do you also create new titles and meta descriptions in the Yoast SEO Box? Can you take a screenshot of what it shows? You can use a tool like: https://imgbb.com/ to share the image.
5. We can see you have some non-Yoast meta data appearing at the top of the page in the source code. We suggest removing that has having duplicate metatags is confusing for social media sites as they are not sure which set is accurate. See image: https://ibb.co/mTNXM1P
1. Yes, all updated
2. Looks like it’s on 5.5.3, maybe thats the issue. I’ll look into updating WP
3. The January 22 version is rare because the title is correctly updated to reflect the right date, but the meta description is not. The description when sharing should show what it shows on the article “See the NBA Game Reviews from Friday, January 22nd, 2021 with entertaining highlights, key facts, valuable takeaways, and more!” but instead it keeps the template version that was cloned and since updated, but not reflected “See the NBA Game Reviews from _day, January #th, 2021 with entertaining highlights, key facts, valuable takeaways, and more!”
4. Yes we update the titles and meta descriptions with the correct date where the _ and # symbols are so its easy for our writers to identify where to update. An example can be viewed while answering #3
5. I have no idea how that non-Yoast meta data got there or how to remove that if you have additional advice on how to accomplish that.
Really appreciate your help and looking forward to resolving this issue. As mentioned before, if we just go and change the permalink, it will then reflect the changes when trying to share the post on social, but hopefully we can find a resolution that doesn’t require that.
Hi,
Please do check if you can update to the latest version of WordPress 5.6.
As for the other concern, the open graph and twitter tags seem to be coming from another plugin or custom code, so you might want to check if any of your other plugins output data for social sharing, and make sure there aren’t any conflicting open graph or twitter tags.
Could you then check if the issue still occurs then?
