yandex crawler and blocks

    Hi! Thanks for the plugin. I would like to rate limit fake google crawlers but in Russia i get alot of traffic from yandex. If I use this options – will WordFence recognize yandex crawlers (by IPs) and don’t block them? It’s quite important…

    Hi @mkulgin,

    Wordfence does not have an option to whitelist Yandex crawlers.

    If a Yandex crawler breaks any of the rate limiting rules, or firewall rules, it will be blocked just like with any other IP address.

    If I add Yandex crawlers IPs to whitelist and set Rate Limit – will WordFence ever block those Yandex IPs or not? Thanks!

    Hi again,

    If you added the IP addresses to Wordfence -> All Options -> Whitelisted IPs, then Wordfence will never block those IP addresses.

    The IPs will never be rate limited.
