• Please complete system requirement notice and add a note to appropriate content sections: Activation of XMLRPC is required.
When XMLRPC is forbidden, opening of e.g. /admin.php?page=matomo-reporting results in 403 Forbidden.

@trilos thanks for creating this issue. I just tried to reproduce this according to the instructions in https://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-disable-xml-rpc-in-wordpress/ but it still works for me. How did you disable XMLRPC and what is your WordPress version?

In this case, blocking XMLRPC is provided by the Plugin iTHemes Security Pro by writing a rule into the .htaccess file.
I guessed this was cause for the problem because after deactivating the blocking the problem was solved, I assumed this plugin might require this and I haven´t analysed this further, sorry. And Apache gives no infos in the logfiles on causes for 403´s.
After reproducing this again, XMLRPC blocking has actually nothing to do with the blocking of /admin.php?page=matomo-reporting
I´ll see if the problem occurs again and try to get more aspects on this.

@trilos I just tried it using iTHemes Security and disabled XMLRPC there (as well as activated most other features) but couldn’t reproduce it. Unfortunately, I don’t have access to the PRO version.

If you know what it adds to the .htaccess files feel free to let me know then I can see how to workaround it maybe.

    Thanks
