• I followed instructions of WordPress in Installing WordPress on Your Windows Desktop.

I installed xampplite and wordpress per instructions but when I put in browser http://localhost/wordpress/wp-admin/install.php, OBJECT NOT FOUND appears.

Where do I get wrong? Where will I save wp-config.php, in XAMPPLITE folder or in WordPress? I saved it in Xampplite folder.

Is there something to disable in my Windows first before installing XAMPPLITE or not at all?

    Thanks for all your help.

    Maria

  • At least in your post here there is a comma following the URI. That aside as a preliminary step with XAMPP it is a good idea to be sure that you have it installed correctly and can navigate to other files inside it or by making a simple html page and testing with that. Your files should go in htdocs/whatever. Plus of course you need to make sure that XAMPP is actually running. Commonly it does not start automatically after a reboot for example. Just some ideas.
