Can anyone help please? The client wants to make the site live, but we are suddenly stuck with these errors.
I deleted nextGen plugin entirely, yet I still have this error code. Should I replace functions.php with original wordpress file? What kind of changes did NextGEN install do to functions.php?
Thanks in advance for anyone’s response.
@webworks – NextGEN Gallery does not make any changes to the any files in WordPress core, themes, or other plugins … I would suggest you may need to review your WordPress installation in general, perhaps try a re-install from under Dashboard > Updates.
Thanks!

Thank you for your response – I’ll do it 🙂
No issues have occurred with any plugins until I installed and then removed Nextgen. The error directly calls it on the first line:
Warning: fopen(/home/username/public_html/wp/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/nggallery.php) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/username/public_html/wp/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4305
So I was scratching my head……..Why would wordpress still be looking for something no longer there. Thanks again, I’m certain a re-install will fix it.
The re-install of wordpress did remove the above errors – Bravo! I was happy to see this, because I went back and tried the install of NextGEN again. (I’m really looking for a drag and drop ordering method).
Unfortunately I’ve been around this loop 3 times, ruling this and that out, with no success. The install brings me the wsod every time. There must be some kind of conflict with one of my plugins, but unfortunately all current plugins are necessary.
If you can think of any other way we can get NextGEN working on our site, I’d appreciate it. Otherwise, I’ll continue my search elsewhere.
Thanks!
@webworks – As you suspect, so do we, there is most likely a plugin conflict but without you finding which one it is under your specific conditions there is not much more we can offer at the moment.
Thanks!
