WSOD across Multiple sites

    I have been experiencing WSOD on my main domain and two add-on domains when Wordfence is activated. I currently have it deactivated and am running WordFence Login Security as that allows the production sites to continue to run with a modicum of protection. First My setup:

    WordPress Ver.: 5.4.1
    Web Server: LiteSpeed
    Server Architecture: Linux 3:10.X
    PHP Ver.: 7.3.X
    PHP Memory limit: 256M

    The issues with multiple sites have happened at different times. I first saw it when there was an upgrade to the AMP Plugin and Yoast SEO plugin, which also had instructions to Delete the “Glue for AMP and Yoast SEO” plugin after successful upgrades.

    What I have tried (most of these multiple times):

      Deactivating all plugins and reactivating one by one
      Deleting and reinstalling WordFence with a fresh install
      Combed through as many related posts here to my issue
      Checked PHP memory limit to ensure it was 256M
      Enabled WP_Debug (results below)
      Used WordFence Assistant to disable the Firewall before reinstall

    Each step was a temporary fix, then went back to receiving the WSOD. I did find that if I kept refreshing using <ctrl>+F5 that the page would eventually come back, but only the page I was requesting.

    I forgot to put in the original post that I also have manually reinstalled WordPress as a possible solution.

    Hey @jimgoodrich,

    Thanks for reporting this, and sharing your system information.

    I’ve been speaking with the Team about this as there have been several other similar reports.

    Can you please navigate to WordPress > Tools > Site Health and share the memory_limit specs?

    I have seen that completely resetting Wordfence can resolve the issue, which you might want to try. But, before you do this can you please send a Diagnostics report? Also, if the reset does fix it can you please share the Diagnostics so we can compare them? Please navigate to Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics. Here you can select SEND REPORT BY EMAIL. Please include your WordPress.org username and update this thread after you’ve sent it.

    Hey @wfgerald,

    I was just able to come back to update this. Part of this issue was that I only checked WoordPress>Tools>Site Health when I saw the allowed memory size error in the debug.log file. It said 256M, which is why I gave that reading in my original post. I checked it twice and didn’t check on the server. That reading was wrong.

    After discussing this with my hosting service, I checked the server itself, it said 128M. Increased the memory to 256M and reactivated and all it is functioning properly. You replied before I had the chance to update here. My apologies.

    I did reset WordFence but didn’t send the report from the Diagnostic page, as I hadn’t seen your post at that point. I can send the report now if you still want it, though I’m not sure if it will help without the first report for comparison.
