    Hello.

I’m trying to figure out why multiple products on our website are showing up under a specific tag on the frontend (https://bit.ly/3dofs5I)

when the tag in question does not seem to have any linked product under it on the backend (https://bit.ly/3dofNFw)

When we checked the individual pages of the affected products via the WordPress editor, the Product tag section is actually empty. (https://bit.ly/3y1wDlu)

I would like to have some help in disassociating the products with the wrong tag (car fridge) and linking the right tags to them instead (e.g water dispenser).

    Hi there @joondei

    Thanks for your question.

That’s really odd that those products are tagged, while that tag doesn’t have items associated.

Not sure what happened previously perhaps you had the products migrated from a different server etc that might have caused this.

You can try to use WooCommerce tools to “refresh” the database.

    1. Please try to clear transient data, and check if the issue is resolved or not:

WP Admin > WooCommerce > Status > Tools > WooCommerce transients > Click – Clear Transients (Button on right)

    2. If that still doesn’t resolve the issue, you can try Generate product lookup tables:

WP Admin > WooCommerce > Status > Tools > Product lookup tables > Click – Regenerate (Button on right)

    3. If that still doesn’t resolve, you can try Terms recount:

WP Admin > WooCommerce > Status > Tools > Term counts > Click – Recount Terms (Button on right)

Let me know how it goes!

    Hello.

Thanks a lot for the advice!

I’ve been unwell and haven’t had the chance to try the recommended fixes yet, but I should be back to working as usual tomorrow and will see how it goes. Will send you an update soon after.

    Apologies for the late response.

    Hi, @solstudioim

Sorry to ask, but just to be on the safe side, will doing any of these not have any possible effects on other things, especially orders? (I don’t have a technical background and had a previous issue with data going missing, so I just wanted to check).

    Hi @joondei,

Generally, your data should be safe, but we normally recommend having a recent backup of your site always, just in case of anything.

You can use UpdraftPlus for backing up the site and then try the suggested fixes.

    Thanks.

    Thanks, @abwaita

I did all three options outlined above, but, unfortunately, the issue still persists. Would there be any other options that we can try?

    Thank you.

    Hi @joondei,

At this point, I’m more likely to believe it’s your site’s theme that is controlling this setting. Could you please activate the default Storefront theme and check if the issue persists?

Please always make a backup before any changes on your site.

    Thanks.
