Wrong Post ID pulled by plugins with this theme

    I have two plugins that break -only when using this theme- that must use some specific type of javascript method for obtaining the post ID.

    My blog is mormonbandwagon.com. The plugins are Frontier Post and Inline Comments.

    The worst result is that comments are posted on other posts than intended. I don’t know javascript, so I can’t tell you what exactly is the cause. However, the plugin developers have only seen such a problem with this theme. As I mentioned, the plugins work fine when I switch themes.

    Please let me know if you have any idea what part of your theme could result in javascript returning the wrong post-id (1087 is the post ID being returned). Thanks.

    Sure. Please look at https://mormonbandwagon.com/reddit/thanks-tscc-thanks-for-nothing/. You can do a search for “1087” in the source and you should see where the wrong post is being grabbed. It should be 1149

    I just figured out it is caused by the “Freak Recent Posts with Thumbnails” widget that comes with the theme. You can see the problem with the site now. Later this evening I will be removing that widget. Something wrong is happening when it runs.

    Are you sure it’s that page? I don’t see 1087 in the source code

    Yes, I’m sure. You can try using the inline commenting system. Click on the + next to any paragraph. When you look at the source for the “Post Comment” form on the inline commenting system, you will see the wrong post ID, resulting in comments being attached to the wrong post.

    Well, you don’t have to make am account any more, but I have replaced your custom widget and that resolved the problem. I suggest you look into the widget coding on this theme.
