wptouch 3.4.4 impossible to update

I have an issue with wptouch plugin version 3.4.4
I made an update to this version immediately as it went live and since I wasn’t able to update it for some reason, I always get a message like:“There was an error during updating of WPtouch Mobile Plugin: Impossible to remove the old plugin.”
I tried to deactivate the plugin, cancel it in dashboard, cancel it in cpanel, but every time I cancel it it reappeares as if I did nothing. It is driving me CRAZY!
I can’t even physically delete the plugin files. I saw later that version 3.4.4 doesn’t even exist in the changelog because of some issues, maybe that is the reason why I can’t cancel it and update to 3.5.4?
Is there anyone out there who had the same issue and solved it? I tried to contact BraveNewCode assistance, but they answered that they don’t give assistance on free plugins, only on PRO version. How can I come out of this situation?
