Is the theme widget-ready?
When originally installed, no. When you go into widgets, it gives you a set of instructions to follow to make it widget-ready. I followed them, and now the actual widget screen is there, and I can drag and drop everything, but nothing shows up on the main page. Also, the theme says it comes with “8 custom widgets,” so I assume that the site would be able to display them.

Never seen that before. What are the instructions?
OK, so you go into the admin page, then click Appearance -> Widgets. When the widgets are deactivated, it gives this message: “Widgets – No Sidebars Defined. The theme you are currently using isn’t widget-aware, meaning that it has no sidebars that you are able to change. For information on making your theme widget-aware, please follow these instructions.” Instructions is hyperlinked, which sends me to this page: http://codex.wordpress.org/Widgetizing_Themes. From there, I activate the widgets/sidebars, and now, instead of this message, I get the actual widget page that I’m used to when I can drag and drop. However, nothing shows up on the main page.
Anyways, this is my site the way it is now, and this is what it’s supposed to look like.
I have everything active on the site, and aside from the ads (which are coming), I can’t get half the boxes they have. The entire black sidebar on the right side, for example, is uneditable on my site. The three title side blocks on the left side (boxing, England and F1 on the original), I can only get 2 to work on mine.
They’re all minor adjustments, but it’s frustrating when you see what it’s supposed to look like and can’t replicate it yourself.
Did you follow the instructions on Widgetizing_Themes and edit your sidebar template file(s)?
