I should have added when filtering is it possible to show a unique list of values of the column in the drop down box and then select as required.
I do not know the technical term for this but prefer this method to typing in the search boxes.
Hope that addition information makes sense.

Try exporting your data using WP rest routes
https://wordpress.org/plugins/rest-routes/
and then bring it back into WPDT via that JSON URL Rest-routes gives.
The table will fly!!
Just make sure NOT to include the “https” when added the URL to WPDatatables.
