WP.com to WP.org

Help! I can’t get the export/import to work for my blog. When I import the xml file into my WP.org local server, it literally does nothing. It think for a moment, aks about importing or masking the user, I check the box to download and import… and then it does nothing. No spinning, no thinking, nothing. I tried this a few times and got different results:

1. I finally refreshed, and it started telling me Media File XXX already exists. I did this a few times, then checked my media library. A bunch of files had been imported but they weren’t attached to anything and no posts came either.

2. Another time I did not refresh and just finally clicked off the import page. Some posts imported, but only up to November of last year! And no media files came with them; everything still linked back to the WP.com library.

I’ve read through forums, watched videos, and searched for hours and I can’t find a solution. I’ve tried deleting everything it managed to import, including the xml file, and starting over. Nothing. These problems also make me worried I’m going to lose my subscribers in the process.

Any specific help would be WONDERFUL.
