After an update to TableBerg 22 hours ago, I’ve been seeing this error message in my logs:

[05-May-2026 15:07:59 UTC] PHP Notice: Function wp_register_style was called incorrectly. Scripts and styles should not be registered or enqueued until the wp_enqueue_scripts, admin_enqueue_scripts, or login_enqueue_scripts hooks. This notice was triggered by the tableberg-toggle-style handle. Please see Debugging in WordPress for more information. (This message was added in version 3.3.0.) in /var/www/hub-gvfrs-org/wp-includes/functions.php on line 6131

I disabled WP-DEBUG display so I could acess the site, and the styles applied to my tables are no longer working.

    Site information:
    WordPress version 6.9.4
    Theme: Neve
    Server_architecture: Linux 6.8.0-111-generic x86_64
    httpd_software: Apache/2.4.58 (Ubuntu)
    php_version: 8.3.6 64bit
    client_version: mysqlnd 8.3.6

This entire site is password protected, so let me if you will need access to view the site.

Hi there. We’re looking into this – I’ll let you know when we have more to share. In the meantime, can you please tell us if all older tables are working correctly?

The tables display, but I’ve lost all styles. I assigned the class “protocols” to the entire table, then in certain cells I assigned other classes such as “aemt” to highlight the cell. When I inspect the code from the resulting page, none of the classes are included in the output. When editing (using Gutenberg), I appear to have lost the ability to add classes to specific cells under the advanced tab.

Is there anyway I can roll back to the previous version?

Sorry about that, I’ll make sure to include a fix in the next release for the missing classes in the output and the ability to add/remove classes to the table. I’ll also expedite the next release. Please bear with us for a couple more days.

While we haven’t been able to recreate the warning about wp_register_style getting called incorrectly, we did see that we should register the block inside an action hook e.g. init which we weren’t doing. We’ve fixed that and hopefully it solved your issue too. We’ve also added classes support for tables and cells. The update is should be dropping soon. Thank you for being patient

I just installed the update. on the front end, no change – still no styles applied.

On the back end, when I edit a page, I get the “This Block Contains Unexpected or Invalid content” message, so I am currently unable to edit the tables.

Can you please send me a link to the version prior to last week’s update? I have training tonight that will be using this website and I need it to be functional ASAP.

Send me an email address and I can send you a link to the affected pages.

I restored version 0.6.14 from my backups and everything is back to normal.

@lewiskerns can you please share the affected blocks’ markup with us, please?
