Do you have a cache plugin like WP Super Cache active?
If you have a caching plugin it’s going to interfere with WP Touch. I ran into this problem as well with W3 Total Cache but Brave New Code saved the day with this tutorial.
no – I don’t have any cache plug ins — here’s what I have running:
AgentPress Listings / Contact Form 7 / Genesis Slider / Google Analytics for WordPress / Google XML Sitemaps / Groups 404 Redirect / Iframe Preserver / Jetpack by WordPress.com / RSS in Page / Social Profiles Widget / Super RSS Reader / WPtouch Mobile Plugin
I believe it was working fine until the update – I hadn’t checked it for a few weeks but before that, no problems
Try deactivating all of your plugins and reactivating them one by one and see if any of them interfere with the mobile site.
Hi, I am getting this issue as well on my site wakeup-world.com
The mobile site 1/2 loads, then I get a white screen with the π symbol in the top left hand corner.
I have deleted the plugin (including all files) re downloaded and activated. Followed http://www.bravenewcode.com/support/knowledgebase/optimizing-caching-plugins-for-mobile-use/#W3totalcache and checked twice that the settings are correct. But I am still getting the π
ps… current the plugin is deactivated so mobile users can access my site.
Thanks in advance for any help
I deactivate JetPack and now my site works with WP – I like JetPack though…
I’ll have to work around it I guess
odd – I just reactivated JetPack and the site works
That’s odd, it must have been just a temporary issue. Glad to know it works now!
Thanks for the info Kellyalan. I did the same. Deactivated JetPack and WPTouch worked straight away.Have re-activated JetPack again and WPTouch is giving me the smiley face issue again π
I would take this issue here and contact Jetpack support.
Thanks Grantkessler, I have submitted the issue to JetPack.
But isn’t the issue more with WPTouch rather than JetPack? If everything was working fine with JetPack before the major update of WPTouch, it would suggest that the issue lays with WPTouch to me?
Yes that might be the case. My mobile site with WP Touch seems to be working fine so it’s an issue with all of WP Touch. You should try emailing WP Touch here about this Jetpack issue or have they should respond shortly to this support forum thread.
Which modules in jet pack are you running?
The Jetpack modules that I am using are limited to

It might even be that another plugin altogether is breaking the theme before Jetpack even begins to load. The only way to determine exactly what’s happening is to complete troubleshooting (instructions below) to determine where the Javascript conflict actually lies.
To isolate which plugin(s) may be contributing to the trouble, deactivate all except WPtouch from within the WordPress Plugins area, clear your browser cache and local data then test.
If WPtouch functions well, you may then enable the rest of your plugins one at a time, repeating the process, until you can identify which is/are causing the problem.
You may choose to replace the conflicting plugin with another or upgrade to WPtouch Pro which has a feature that will allow you to disable the conflicting plugin within your mobile theme but leave your desktop theme intact.
