• Hi, I am a project manager working on a pretty standard WP web project, we are working a develeoper to get in done, we currently have Godaddy Managed Wp Ultimate hosting package and after the design phase of the website, when it comes to migration, our developer told us that he is having issues to migrate our website from his server to our godaddy hosting (using wp all in one migration, as well as sftp access) He was telling us following :

“I try all the steps to be done. If the two domains are the same, there is an event we call Cache data. I tried all the ways to clean the packets sniffed by the browser and the local network, but I still could not reach the main directory. When I reached via VPN, there was a hang in file upload. No free disk space warning on img.”

As I am not an IT project manager I am not fully understand why he can’t fix the problem.

I wonder if there is something that this community suggests that we could possibly try because I am now concerned about the project.

    Thanks iin advance,

    Best

  • If I understand your request correctly, the developer has developed the website on his hosting and now wants to transfer it to your Godaddy hosting. I don’t understand what the developer is writing at all. What he writes has no connection to WordPress but is very technically formulated a network problem, which he probably sees from his side.

I would recommend using one of the plugins intended for this purpose for the migration. Your developer can find some for this here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/migrate/ – you can use it to copy a WordPress web from a to b without any problems.

If you have any further questions, I would recommend contacting either the support team for the migration plugin you are using or GoDaddy support.
