    Hi,
I have the registration form which “partially” works, meaning that:
    – Each time I have tried it, I get the email notification about a new user, and the user is in fact created inside the members’ database
    – So far however two users registered and I got the admin email notification about a new user, but when I check under “members” on WP-admin, I do not see them.

    Any idea?
I am using the standard default form, and have not touched any PHP.

I can manually add the members but I this would mean creating a random password that is unknown to the users…

    Thanks,
    DS

  • Daft question, do you have the “Holds new member for admin approval” ticked.
The new members won’t be created until an admin goes in and approves the registration request.
I think you’ll find any pending activations under the “Users” menu, at the bottom marked “Pending activations”

Might not be your issue but just throwing out a suggestion.

    Nope, negative.

However, I realize that the 4 users (4 now) for which I don’t see an entry in the members list could be bots/spam, as they all follow the standard “namesurname#######” being # random numbers

    Like
    “tljones2301966”

But I have no idea about these could be created without creating an entry in the members list…

The site link referenced in the original question is not using WP-Members. Also, the description doesn’t fit what WP-Member has (i.e. admin menu item “Members” – WP-Members uses the already existing Users > All Users screen that is part of WordPress).

I suspect you’re seeking assistance here for a different plugin.

Thnks Chad, my bad I think

lol – not using WP Members would be the issue.

For those random registrations, regardless of what plugin you are using, within WordPress settings, switch off the ‘allow anyone to join’ (which they can do via the regular WP login/create account road). That will force them to use the login method you have set-up (Go install WP Members, it works… support is great… ditch what you’re using 😉
