The latest version of WP Mail SMTP (Version 1.3.2) will not allow UpdraftPlus (Version 2.14.11.24) to upload backups to Google Drive. Once I deactivated WP Mail SMTP, UpdraftPlus worked properly. I confirmed with UpdraftPlus. Here’s the error message.

PHP Fatal error (TypeError) has occurred. Error Message: Argument 1 passed to Google_Client::__construct() must be of the type array, object given, called in /home/web356/public_html/wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/methods/googledrive.php on line 689 (Code: 0, line 92 in /home/web356/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/vendor/google/apiclient/src/Google/Client.php)

Sorry about that. This is a know issue with 1.3.x.

You can see more details here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/google-api-problem-2/#post-10448740

The short version of this is our release conflicts with Updraft because they are using an older version of the Google API than we are.

We’ll have this resolved next week. In the mean time there are steps in the link above you can use to downgrade as a temporary work around.

    Thanks Jared.

Suggestion: Have a stand alone pro version of WP Mail SMTP and I’ll buy it. I’m afraid I don’t have any need for WPForms since I don’t do forms so it’s hard to justify paying for that.
