Support » Installing WordPress » WP Install Errors

  • Hi there. Thought I would try out WP on my local XP machine, running Apache. It seems the install-config.php file throws the following errors. If I create the config.php file manually, everything appears to work as it should, but in fact the blog location gets set to the wp install location, and wp’s index.php gets overwritten with the blog output. Is this a bug?
If this was smoother WP looks very smart and I would like to get using it.
    Regards,
    Matt

  • Matt,
It seems that all of us have had a bump or two with the software. No different from any other program. Some people have a tougher time while others breeze through with only barely noticeable problems. I’d just like to welcome you to the WP community. We all invite your questions, comments, suggestions and any other feedback you might have.
    Just give us a shout!
    Have fun.
    Craig.

Is this a new thing? Do answers to newbie questions now get deleted and replaced with a bland welcome message? 🙁
