    Hi Andre,
I just updated this theme to the latest version and discovered that you’ve added some extra style rules to the default WordPress galleries, that override or add to the styles that are used in child themes. What happens is that thumbnail images in the WP galleries are now enclosed in not-so-pretty boxes with 1px grey borders. This messes up the styles I’ve defined in my child themes. I’ve had to revert to the previous version. You can see the effect in the following page as an example: http://www.daisydesigns.ca/graphic/navy-lace/
I have discovered where in the theme’s stylesheet where the conflict is – line 1080, but overriding in the child theme doesn’t seem to work. I will leave the theme version for the above site as is for now, so you can see the effect, but I will have to fix it in the next few days.

Also, the thumbnail images shrink too small on smaller screens, but I can probably handle that in the media queries.
    Thanks.

  • I had to make some changes to the gallery styling because WordPress at some point recently, completely changed how galleries are structured…you can blame the developers for that one. When they did this, it meant any previous CSS had to be changed.

Unfortunately, you only have a couple options, redo your child theme css overrides with the newer WP gallery styling, or stay with the previous version of Celestial Lite that you had before.

Thanks for this. It explains things.
I’ll try to override the styles in the child theme, and failing that, I’ll just revert back to the previous version of the parent theme. By the way, really nice work on Circumference.

Sorry wasn’t much help on this one for you…but also thanks for the comment about my Circumference theme.

No Worries. Sometimes we just have to live with what’s handed to us and make the best of it.
