    Hi there,

I have been having an intermittent php fatal error showing via my Bulletproof Security plugin, and until now haven’t been able to localise the problem.

    The error is:
PHP Fatal error: Cannot redeclare bpsPro_AP_Check() (previously declared in /home/mysite/public_html/wp-content/plugins/bulletproof-security/includes/functions.php:54) in /home/mysite/public_html/wp-content/plugins/bulletproof-security/includes/functions.php on line 64

As this error had now suddenly become so frequent (every second!) I was able to test it by deactivating and rreactivating plugins individually. And WP Edit was the only one that immediately caused this error to show again.

I have run checks recommended in the BPS Pro forum, including checking for any duplication of this function (function bpsPro_AP_Check) using the BPS Pro String|Function Finder but it didn’t show anything, so not sure how your plugin is causing this error.

Please see the BPS Pro forum info for this issue here: http://forum.ait-pro.com/forums/topic/php-fatal-error-cannot-redeclare-bpspro_ap_check/page/3/.

I hope this helps, and in the meantime we will keep WP Edit deactivated unless we really need it.

    Cheers.

    Hi there,

Thanks for reporting this issue. At this point; I have no idea what may be happening. I have, however, replied to the topic over at BPS per your link above. Let’s see if they can determine anything first… and we can move forward at that point.

    Hi Josh,

Thanks for helping to look into this. From what Edward thinks (at BPS Pro) it seems it might just be an unlucky coincidence of some odd server setting which triggers this error in conjunction with your plugin for some reason, and he’s very kindly going to take at look at it on my site. Sorry if this is a wild goose chase and I apologise for potentially reflecting badly on you Josh, as I know your plugin is great! It’s just my knowledge isn’t sufficient to determine if it’s anything else.

I will post the outcome here for anyone else to find.
    Cheers, J

It’s no worries at all. I appreciate you being sensitive to the life of a developer.

Just keep us posted. I hate leaving you waiting…. but I really feel the guys over at BPS will have more/better insight into the issue.

If they do determine it’s anything with my plugin; or if you’re unable to find the solution…. I’ll def get involved.

    Talk to you soon.

OK, I have detailed instructions from AITpro @ BPS and am all ready to go with my cPanel edirts, but when I activated WP Edit this time… no errors at all!

So my plan is to keep an eye on this site and when/if the php error reoccurs and is reliably frequent again I will run through the tests and will update with the results here.
    Cheers, j

Sounds great. Glad everything is working properly for you. Those guys over at BPS are impressive.

Yes, please keep me in the loop if anything else transpires.
