I’m having a similar problem, with the message:
WP Backup has detected a problem. wp-cron.php is returning a Failure when receiving data from the peer response which could mean cron jobs aren’t getting fired properly. WP Backup relies on wp-cron to run scheduled back ups. See the FAQ for more details.
This shows up on the Manage Backups screen.
I suspect that the host is the issue here but would like confirmation before moving it forward with them..
i don’t think so.. i have two WP based websites in the same host, only in one i get the same error.. in the other WP Backup works great.
well, 4 me the problem is solved… by resetting the folders writing permissions and web space too, to its original condition
