I kept trying to grab a button off your site to put on my blog, and it kept trying to save as a .bmp rather than a .gif. But, I was able to go to Mike Hudson’s page and right-click it to save.
    …just an fyi.

Hmmm… strange, all the buttons on the buttons page http://wordpress.org/about/buttons/ are GIFs or PNGs

It’s a browser issue (IE for the most part). Restarting the browser is usually enough to fix it, but occasionally a reboot is in order.

Dang, it’s always me or my browser. 🙂

… and the bandwidth went through the roof. I’ve had similar problems with IE, and I think it may have started around the same time I installed the QuickTime plugin. Your milage may vary, my solution was to use Mozilla.

This has also happened to me. MS Knowledge Base said to delete the Temporary Internet Files and it worked for me. A bit easier than a reboot 🙂
