    i used wp 2.7 built-in ‘install a plug-in’ page to install wp-dtree.

it did not upload plus.gif into /plugins/wp-dtree-30/dtree-img/

it also did not upload all gifs after plus.gif.

i would assume other files may have been skipped as well.

this problem occurred with ‘install from url’ and ‘install from a file’

when i manually uploaded the plugin, no files were missed.

therefor, WP’s ‘install a plugin page’ is DEFECTIVE.

    unless i’m mistaken.

  • Used Plugins->Add New->Search on the term dtree, found the plugin, installed from the extend site. The plugins/wp-dtree-30/dtree-img folder contained 22 .gif files including “plus.gif”. Also, all 14 files in the wp-dtree-30 folder accounted for.

Using shared hosting, Linux, PHP 5.2.8, Apache 1.3.41, WordPress 2.7.

you avoided the bug by using the ‘add new’ page to search for, and install the plugin.

that’s not how i got the bug. i got it by using the ‘install a plugin’ page from an explicit url or filepath.

Sorry I’m not seeing ‘install a plugin’ page from an explicit url or filepath.

my bad, this bug is in the “Single Click Plugin Updater”.

it’s a super plugin, which gives you a new ‘install plugin’ page, which can install a plugin from a remote zip link.

it’s been around a long time, so i expect they’ll fix this bug.

    thanks
