• I just starting working with WordPress and had went through the instructions to install wordpress on to my domain through the easy install with cPanel as well as manually downloading the program, editing the config.php file.

Both ways allowed for my site travelmask.us to load something. However I am not able to get my travelmask.us/wp-admin or wp-admin/install.php will not load.

During both install methods I am getting a white page that reads “Not Found” “The requested URL /wp-admin was not found on this server.”

I’ve checked the permissions on my files and the wp-admin, wp-content, and wp-includes is set to 755.
I’ve tried renaming the plugin folder and then changing it back to the original name.

I’m honestly completely lost and do not understand why my admin page will not load.
    Please assist.

  • Hi yeevong,

Which folder did you install wordpress into on your server?
Most of the times it’s either in the main folder or in a /wordpress/ subfolder. In the first case travelmask.us/wp-admin should work, in the latter case travelmask.us/wordpress/wp-admin should work.
If you’ve installed it into any other folder (e.g. /blog/) than that would need to be written in the url as well (i.e. travelmask.us/blog/wp-admin).

    Hope, this helps.

    Thank you for the response.

I checked that part as well, I have everything in my public_html folder meaning it should just work under travelmask.us/wp-admin right.

I’ve even tried installing it into a blog folder and waiting a full day to see if the the wp-admin would work them but it still didn’t.
