• I am using wamp on my laptop to try to build a site for a friend. Once he approves it I can upload it to a server for him. I have WordPress 6.3.2 installed. It is a fresh install, no plugins, no posts, nothing. I click to add a new user and fill in everything BUT. There’s always a but 🙁

There is only one space for the password for the new user. So I keep getting the message that the passwords don’t match. How can I type it in twice in only one space??? I have refreshed the page. I have rebooted and gone in with nothing else running. Even if I click on generate password nothing shows up in the password box. You name it I’ve tried it. NOTHING WORKS. 🙁 🙁

I read topics that have been closed on this topic and find no help anywhere for this. Please help a dummy out.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

I can’t reproduce what has been described for me. My recommendation would be to clear your browser cache – maybe try it in another browser. Does it work there?

    Hello,

I have deleted the cache, used ccleaner, iobit, etc. etc. Heck I’ve even unistalled wamp and wordpress and reinstalled both from scratch 3 or 4 times. I refresh the page till I go blue in the face. You name it I’ve tried it.

If I try to create a new user and use the default password that wordpress suggests when adding the new user all is ok. But if the person who owns the company I am trying to design the website for wants to use a password of his own things crap out.

There is only one box to type in a password. I never ever see two boxes where I can type in the password then type it into a second box. If I create the new user that way it is created but then the guy who wants me to build him a site gets upset he can’t use his own password in which case he says if I can’t figure out something that simple why should he trust me to build him a website…..

Older versions of WordPress worked fine for me. But this new one wants me to design in blocks, etc, etc, on and on with the new features… I’m now on my third course from lynda.com to try to understand “the new way” of doing things and all I am is frustrated. If I can’t get something this simple to work correctly I’ll just go back to version 4 or something close to that because at least I know back then how to do things without all the restrictions the newer one keeps throwing at me.

Can you tell all I am is frustrated….
