WorPress As Product Tool?

    Hi All

    I’m webmaster for a small hobby website & forum called . In the webpages I have summaries of different cheeses that I’d like to convert to product reviews that other users could also contribute to.

    What I want is:
    1) A fixed category of different Cheeses that only I could change, ie Cheddar, Brie, Stilton etc.
    2) Subcategory brands of cheese that users could add, ie Cheddar – Kraft or Brie – President etc.
    3) Users make their reviews, others could comment on a review or post their own on same cheese – brand
    4) Guests and Users can sort the reviews first by Category and then by subcategory.
    5) Ability to tweak the template to look like and integrate into main website.

    Question is, would WordPress with plugins etc fit the bill or can anyone recommend a different application?

    it really is up to you to determine the fitness of any product for your purpose.

    I can tell you though, that it’s certainly possible to do what you want with wordpress… and quite easily, for someone prepared to invest some time in a little research.

    The fact that you’re asking this here though, seems to suggest that maybe you don’t fit that bill. There are more specific solutions out there for product reviews, but they won’t be nearly as flexible.

    You’ll have to make that call, though. Nobody else can do that for you.
