Working with Uploaded Templates

I’ve uploaded a new theme in WP. Can’t figure out where to change the home page title. It still says “Modern” I’ve searched everywhere. I think it’s in “Appearance >> Editor” but I can’t make sense of it.

I’m not familiar with that code. Is there a simple way to change some of the default text with the template?

Also, I’m trying to add arrows above my optin and the “simple-image” plugin is not working.

Any ideas would be hugely helpful!
