Wordsmith theme on WordPress

    HI!
    I am unable to install the wordsmith template on WordPress whichever way i have tried;
    1) using ftp.
    2) unable to unzip and so cant read the readme.txt
    3) mine is a wordpress app installed on godaddy hosting.
    4) using the upload feature on WP.
    5) using the install feature on WP.
    nothing works
    4) says permissions on parent directory not there, i checked all are there.5) when i run install feature, it asks me for ftp log, in, pwd..a.nd then nothing.
