WordPressMove hangs > probably too many files
-
I have the same problem that the Migration assistant hangs on Files to transfer. With IE10 and Chrome. Sometimes it keeps only turning, sometimes it’s not responding. At the beginning I got also the message that the script is too large to load in this server, but this message I did not see anymore.
My WordPress installation is in a Folder accessed by .htaccess from the root. In the same folder as WordPress I have a folder “documents” This folder has about 5000 files most pdf and jpg. My question is if there is a possibility to exclude some folders which should not be transferred before it’s loaded into the JS file tree or does WordPress Move only transferee the WordPress structure?
A second issue that could make me a problem with the move is the following: With an earlier move attempt it went something wrong and I got the error message: “Error establishing a database connection”. See post http://wordpress.org/support/topic/error-establishing-a-database-connection-365?replies=3. You guys helped me with this post http://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL but the WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) is greyed out now and I can’t change it anymore. How does this change influence WordPress Move? As I will not change the URL nor the folder structure the wp-config.php and functions.php could stay the same, but I would love to try the move first to my server with an other URL by the same provider to be sure it works. I like more a working web and a bad provider than a good provider and dead web. But I have to make the decision in the next days. Thanks for any advice.
