Hello,
Make sure that your wp-content/upgrade folder has chmod 777 privileges else it is unable to download WordPress to your server.
Dave.
I have the same problem –
My wp-content/upgrade folder has permissions set to 777 though, so that’s not the problem.
I wonder what else I can do about it?
Does an error show when it fails? I have had issues with lack of memory a few times but if there are any messages which appear it would be helpful if you could post them 🙂
I am pretty sure that automatic update won’t work if you’re running PHP4 (most commonly ran if you host with one and one).
Dave.
Yeah mine still won’t work. There’s no error message. The page simply stops loading and it stays on that screen. My host’s php version is 5.2.
I have been trying for weeks to install the new 3.0.1, and each time, the message appears that it has failed and I need to try again. I don’t understand about permissions, but I wonder if this is something to do with it, and how do I change the situation? Thanks
I’m having the same issue as JaGill. Has anyone figured out how to resolve? Thanks.
Try adding AddType x-mapp-php5 .php to the top of your WordPress .htaccess file.
