WordPress Windows App on Win 10 acting strange

I download the desktop app to try it out. Hoping to streamline the blogs I have. Everything seems fine, however, I am having two issues.

1. The test drafts that I made are being saved to my blog but, my “posts” page in the desktop app shows nothing. It’s like it forgets that I did anything. I go online and I can see it. So, right now I cannot keep working on drafts on the desktop app.

2. Whenever I hit the preview button it brings up the Windows Store dialogue box and says, “You’ll need an app to open this” but does not provide any options. It stays like that until I click on the browser to cancel the dialogue box. The browser does not even jump to the top.

I can’t figure it out. Any thoughts or advice is welcome. Thanks in advance.

What’s the URL of the affected site?

Also, FYI, the app is provided by WordPress.com, and WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_vs_WordPress.com

WordPress.com has complete documentation and support contacts at https://support.wordpress.com/ but they’re mostly closed for the holidays, so we’ll do the best we can here.

Hey James,

The issue is not with my site. It’s just with the desktop app. I was wondering about whether I should post my question over there. I will do that. Thanks!

The issue could still be with the site, or rather how the site communicates with the app. That is something I can help with, but I’ll need the URL.

Otherwise, if you’re absolutely sure that the issue with with the WordPress.com Desktop App for sure, then I’ll have to just direct you to https://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

The site is victorscott.org.

The blog requires a working Jetpack connection to function with the WordPress.com Desktop App.

According to http://jetpack.me/support/debug/ Jetpack is either not installed, not active, or not connected on your site.

I disconnected jetpack and then reconnected. That seems to have done it. Thanks for the help. I probably would not have thought about that! My site was showing up on the dashboard but, it was not playing nice with the app.
