WordPress will not let me log in!!

I am hosting my personal website on my own computer. I am running Mac OS 10.3.7 and the Apache webserver. I have Comcast cable internet and a router, since I have several computers sharing the connection. This is just a hobby right now (albeit a frustrating one). I am completely new at everything pertaining to web site creation and web servers except basic html and basic programming understanding.

I installed the latest (stable) MySQL and PHP as per WordPress instructions. I then tried to install WordPress, but got that bug where it would get to step three and not display any information. So I installes phpMyAdmin and deleted the WP databases and tried that hack mentioned somewhere on here (changing a ‘[ to a -> or something like that). WordPress installed then, and everything seemed fine, but now it wont let me login. It keeps re-directiong me to the login page over and over, with no error message unless I type in the wrong password. The only registered use right now is “admin”. I’d love some help or a walk-through on things to tweak and watch out for when using WordPress, phpMyAdmin, etc.

But I’d just be happy to be able to log in right now!! Thanks all!
