WordPress Upload Multiple Images

    Hi,
    I was bought hosting and uploaded my wordpress, my website just ordinary blog it’s about my travel diaries. It’s only 2 (two) weeks, I had 10 post’s with image inside the post’s. But I was surprised the hosting tech gave me warning that my disk capacities was running low.

    I already discuss this with the hosting tech and there’s nothing matter with the hosting disk capacities, and there are no spam or my website was being hacked.

    So I examined my website folder’s one by one, and I’m extremely surprised when I was opened upload folder, there are so many images there. I had only 10 post’s with max two images in it. I examined my post’s and counted it there are only 15 images in all my post’s.

    But when I was counting the images in the upload folder (on WordPress folder) there are 75 image’s with different size and different file size’s also. My maximum images pixel size was 1024×768 (only 3 images) and the other images below that size.

    How can this happened?I was thinking because of a plugin, but I never installing slider, gallery, or that kind plugin. Because the template?also not, I tried different template/theme and still the same, WordPress uploaded multiple images with different size’s into my hosting disk.

    I’m running out quota on my hosting disk. Any solution?

    Hello – when you upload a photo to your WordPress site – the system automatically creates three sizes so that you can use them as needed. Your theme may also require different sizes.

    It does sound though – that your hosting company has way too low of server space for you.

    I already have the solution. This perhaps will become Worpress consideration for the next update’s, because I was found the solution in WordPress forum about 4 years old topic’s, and the problem still the same. WordPress automatically generate three images and also the theme we used generate four to seven images, that will drain hosting disk space.

    The solution is:
    1. Login To Your WP Dashboard.
    2. Go to Settings and then, Media.
    3. Here you will find 3 various image sizes: thumbnail, medium, large. Decide which image sizes you won’t be using and then set those sizes to 0.
    4. Update and save your new settings.
