WordPress updates problem

Hi,

I am using an old version of WordPress (3.6) and wanted to upgrade it to the latest version, however on the ‘Updates’ screen it states ‘You have the latest version of WordPress’ which clearly isn’t true! I’ve tried clicking the ‘Check Again’ button but it still gives this message.

I am using wordpress.org so have WordPress installed on a company server, is the problem that this isn’t able to check the internet WordPress site for updates?

Could you advise me on how I can get WordPress to recognise that it isn’t the latest version so that it makes the Update button visible for me?
