WordPress Updates

    My wordpress dashboard says that I have the latest version of WordPress and that all my plugins are up to date, even though the latest WP version is 3.8.

    Also, when I am logged into the dashboard and go to the site, it shows I have 6 updates, and when I click on the link, the dashboard no longer reflects the updates.

    Does anyone have an idea of what is going on and how I might fix it? I do have a backup of the site from an earlier time that I can restore if needed.
