WordPress Theme Design / Converting to a Theme

Hi Guys –

I am new to the forum, looking to gain a better knowledge of wordpress, wp design.

I currently do a bit of simple web design (non-wordpress). This is my first time to get interested in customized themes and I have an abundance of questions!

My main question is how to turn a design into a wordpress theme.

I recently came across the site of thesilentgiants.com and noticed they are using wordpress. I contacted the designer of the site directly and he said he was unavailable for work, but that I should be able to replicate the site appropriately using common wordpress knowledge. Unfortunatley, I never have worked with wordpress. With that said, I have been able to customize the coding of thesilentgiants to fit my needs, however, it is a web design copy, not a wordpress theme. How do I get my design to operate as a theme? Do I need to use customize php to make the site fire? Right now, I have the css, html and javascript/jquery, but nothing php related.

Is there someone who can help with this and/or someone I need to contact or find to help turning the design into a theme? I hope these questions make sense. I am definitely a noob with this today, but hope I have provided enough clarity to help address the questions I am searching for. Thanks in advance for the help.
