WordPress shop with database

I am trying to set up a shop on wordpress to sell vintage clothing and I was wondering what the best e-commerce plugin would be to use. I need to be able to check out using paypal and I need to be able to link to a database so that when an item is sold it is automatically removed from the website (or says ‘sold out’ until I can manually remove it). Does anyone have any advice?
