wordpress search, redirection, and pass through

Trying to add a pass through for source http://www.domain.com/?s=28557 to target http://www.domain.com/28557 and I get a 404 page not found even though http://www.domain.com/28557 exists
I’m assuming the ? in the search string is throwing things off?
