• I am back with this issue because I now believe it may be a WordPress issue.

I will try to summarize in as few words as possible. I made changes to a NextGen gallery (Recent Photos) adding new photos, deleting older photos, and reordering the images. All the changes went through without issue and when I visit the linked page all the changes are visible.

But when I log out and visit the site as an outside visitor things get wonky. If I access the website http://www.edvatza.com, the Welcome/Home page comes up as it should. If I then click on Recent Photos in the menu, everything comes up just fine. NOW… if I click on another page (say Artist Statement or a gallery like Portraits) that page comes up just fine as well. BUT if I then click to go back to Recent Photos, all I get on the Recent Photos page is a series of blank spaces with file number of the deleted images. Same thing if I go to another page and back again. Exactly the same. EXCEPT when I return to the Welcome/Home page. Then if I click on Recent Photos from there, all is well again.

Logic tells me it is not a NextGen problem but rather the result of something being amiss in my WordPress site.

PLEASE HELP as this has been driving me crazy for over 24 hours now and counting.

    Ed

Let’s please stick to https://wordpress.org/support/topic/managing-galleries-1 until NextGEN support actually confirms it’s not something fixable on their end.

There’s absolutely no reason to duplicate support efforts in separate threads until then. They know their product, and they’ll let you know when it’s not an issue with their product.

I’m sorry, James. I’m am not trying to divide support efforts at all. I am usually very good at intuitive problem solving if not at the technical end of things. After hearing from photocrati and doing some problem-solving tests of my own, I came to the conclusion the the issue was WordPress related rather than NextGen related… a pages issue rather than a gallery issue.

But okay, I’ll go away now and either figure it out on my own or look elsewhere.

And again I am sincerely sorry for unintentionally dividing support efforts.

And I don’t mean for you to go away. What I meant is that you should reply to NextGEN support with your findings.

Simply based on what you described above, this is still likely an issue with their plugin and something they can fix. They’ll let you know when it’s not, and why, and that will give us a lot more to go on.

Okay, I’ll give it one more try.
