    Hi,

I have been looking all over but not sure what is going wrong. I tried posting three new posts today. The posts said successfully posted and I was able to view it (using the newer wordpress post editor). When I went back though I realized that the 2nd and 3rd posts had overwritten the original post because wordpress gave it the same permalink. I tried to change the permalink and update it but that didn’t work. It also keeps changing the title and photo from the previous page. I am confused.

I tried to clear the cache, log out, log in, and also checked the permalink settings and those haven’t changed.

I’m at a loss as to what to change here to fix it, because I posted fine a few days ago.

Thank you to any help you can provide!

  • I’m also encountering this same problem. Could it be a problem with the latest version of WordPress?

Two posts can’t have the same slug, so if you try to give a new post the same slug as an existing post, WordPress will append a number to the end. Is that what’s happening here?

No that’s not what was happening. The new post was automatically being given the same slug as the previous post and wouldn’t let me change it – therefore overwriting it.

After hours on the phone with support, I figured out it was a caching setting in cloudflare that was causing it. Once I changed the setting everything worked as it should.

What setting on Cloudflare did you need to change? I’m having the same issue.

I had to delete page rules that had been created in cloudflare when I was using w3 total cache. hopefully that helps!
