Is ther a way to bypass the css on the audio player?
You can’t bypass it but you can update/remove the audio player elements from your custom CSS.
I’m unable to identify where the audio player element custom css is in my stylesheet. Can you please specify what the exact code is?

I can see you’re using Highend theme (thrid-party) and this appears theme specific issue. I suggest you contact theme provider ( https://hb-themes.com/themes/highend/ ) and they will surely assist you in this.

I did contact the theme developer. That’s why I am here.
They told me: “Well, WordPress updated their element, we cant do anything here, but if you use this player on the page it will be ok.
Sorry Broc, but it looks like this requires more than normal amount of css and I’m reporting this problem to our developers.

I disagree with what they said. Just try to use audio player with another theme and I am sure it will work. That means it has definitely to do with the theme, not with the WordPress itself.
You are correct. I activated another theme, and the native player displayed properly. Thanks for your help.
I disagree with the assumptions made here. The player does not display correctly on all my sites with different themes since the last update.
This is clearly a bug. Looking at the css, I cannot find any entries that cause some of the strange looks.
Anyone else having this problem?
I found over 20 forums discussing this issue and nobody seems to have a clear constructive answer.
It doesn’t work for me either. I’m currently using the Muso theme which leaves a lot to be desired. I guess I’ll have to get a different theme and report back.
