WordPress Migration Trying to Reinstall

    I am trying to migrate my domain from one server to another. I have followed all of the tutorials that describe transferring databases, updating setting (not applicable to me because I’m using the same domain), moving all of the files, and reconnecting WP to the new database. It has been pretty straightforward, but the site on the new server tries to get me to reinstall (set blog name and email address).

    Does anyone have any ideas or questions that might help?

    Hi there,

    I would recommend downloading the original files from your old site and upload it to your new one.

    it covers everything from backing up your files,database etc..

    Make sure your wp-config.php file contains the same table prefix as the tables in your database.

    Ooops…just realized this is a two month old post…I assume the problem has been fixed by now.
