  • Just downloaded v3.3.1, unzipped it, copied it to Apache server dir=htdocs/myworkoutgroup/wp/, started the install.php and receive this:

Fatal error: Class ‘Gettext_Translations’ not found in C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs\myworkoutgroup\wp\wp-includes\pomo\mo.php on line 14

Found a topic for it and only fix is to re-download and try again. Did that and same result. Any other solutions?

    Thank you.

    EverettG.

Found something in the documentation that says the class is located in the file translations.php on line 135. Checked it and class GetText_Translations is there. Makes even less sense now. Help anyone?

    Thanks.

  • a fresh download and fresh install will do it..

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately I have already redownloaded it and reinstalled it, as my original post mentioned. Still did not work. Any other suggestions?

    Thanks.

    which server are you using?
i would suggest you to download xampp from apache freinds. it is the best server.

Thanks for your reply. I am using Apache v2.2. Have tried several re-installs with no luck. I have found the Class in the appropriate file so the files seem to be correct. I am very confused. Any other suggestions.

    Thank you

Oh by the way, my server is on Windows XP.

Hello again. I tried installing WordPress at the web site root folder instead of in a subfolder [site_root/wp/]. Guess what, same error message Fatal error: Class ‘Gettext_Translations’ not found in C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs\myworkoutgroup\wp-includes\pomo\mo.php on line 14

This looks like an install script problem to me. Does anyone have a possible solution other than re-download and re-install? Anyone? I still can locate the Gettext_Transitions class in the transitions.php file in the same folder as mo.php which uses it. ??? Am I misunderstanding what I am seeing?

Just thought of something, is it possible that my path – C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs\myworkoutgroup\wp-includes\pomo\mo.php is too long and therefore cannot locate the appropriate file? Just a thought.

Apache Server v2.2 on Win XP, PHP v5.2.9-2, MySQL v5.0.81.
Web sites are active [development, not live] on the Apache server and function properly. All use php pages and scripts, so php seems to be running properly. I also use MySql databases on all functioning web sites with no issues.

    Thank you.
