• In need of URGENT help.

Our wordpress website has been compromised and was redirecting all visitors to various pornographic websites. We was also unable to access the wr-admin console to update etc. I have download the website material through the FTP server. Is there a way I can delete or amend the content to pre-hack. I am a novice wordpress user.

I have changed our domain namespace settings to prevent visitors from accessing the website but this also means i am unable to access the site also.

  • Do you have any backup available?
If not, you can download the database, and the content of wp-content folder. Then you can make local WP installation (WAMP, XAMP, MAMP…) and try to recreate the site. And if all looks well, put it back online. Needless to say, you should find out how your site was hacked in the first place…

You will need to work through this resource:
    https://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_My_site_was_hacked

And then once your site is clean take the steps suggested here:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Hardening_WordPress

You also have the alternative of restoring your site from a known clean backup of your site files and database (safely pre-hack) as suggested by @sinip, and then changing all your passwords (WordPress Admin/cPanel/database/FTP), although if there is a vulnerability then you would still need to locate and fix that.

If this is beyond your skills base then there are solid companies out there who specialise in hack repair.

    Good luck!

    Good luck!
