WordPress functions.php file error – complete system fail!
-
Hi there,
I was trying to add some code into the functions.php file within WordPress edit theme area. As soon as I updated the file the whole site bacme invisible, including the login area, so I can’t get back in to change it back. I uploaded the original functions.php file (pre-install) via ftp, still nothing. is there anyway to restore the site without a complete WordPress reinstall? I also tried uploading functions.wp-scripts.php and functions.wp-styles.php from another WP install, no good.
If I do have to reinstall, which folders should I save? Just wp-content? And should I just delete WordPress files from the server or is there an uninstall procedure?
The site is (was) http://www.vivayouthsingers.com/about (the default page for the domain is just a temp landing page, not WP).
Thanks in advance,
Mary Bella
