Personally, I like mailing lists. I find them much easier to keep up with than forums. I’d sign up to this one if it wasn’t for the fact I already have :).

Explain how you want to help with the forum and what you “specialize” in. This way, if a topic comes up, we’ll know who to turn to for expertise. Or maybe we can interogate you as an expert so we can all learn from you! Who knows?

I guess I fail to see the advantages of this idea. Not to be stick in the mud, but how is this really any different that what goes on now, other than to create an elitest caste?
