I am given a message that the link to reset has been sent. It never comes.
– Ask your hosting provider what’s going on (e.g., if any of their SMTP filtering rules have changed recently; If for some reason your notification emails have been simply queued. etc.)
– Also ask them if you need to setup SMTP. If you do, then you can use a plugin for it, for example: https://wordpress.org/plugins/postman-smtp/
When I try using my email address from ‘forgot password’ page, I am told that the email address doesn’t exist for them… and I’ve never changed it…
– You can check your email address in the dashboard.
– Also, you can check the users’s Email in the database; look closer at the key/value pairs inside the wp_usermeta table.
OK… went to wordpress.com dashboard… checked email address, and went to “security” and changed password.
Went to my blog site, clicked “login” to get to admin panel sign-in… and same issues…..
…and not sure how to get to wp_usermeta table as the computer it resided on crashed and burned……..
Any other thoughts? Thank you!
Is this a wordpress.com site or a self-hosted WordPress install?
self-hosted wordpress install
So why were you checking your details at wordpress.com?
It’s the only dashboard I’ve been able to access….
Update… i’m in… and feeling stupid. Not sure when it was changed, but my password reset emails were going to my site@ which I’ve accessed and voila!
Thanks for taking the time to help!
