WordPress failed to check on latest version

Dear All,

I’m having a problem checking the latest WordPress version in one of the websites I’m working on. I noticed that the current version used (6.3.2) is outdated but it doesn’t say that new update available. When I clicked on ‘Check again’ it gave me “There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.”

Is this a PHP memory limit problem? I increased the wp-config.php (both memory limit) to 512MB already but the problem still occurs. Is there a solution to this problem? It’s affecting the compatibility with other plugins, thus affect the performance.
