WordPress Doesn't Say "Post Updated" Anymore

    Version 3.8.1

    This is strange and I’m not sure when it started. You know when you edit a post or page and you get the message at the very top of the screen that says, “post updated”? Well, I don’t get that anymore.

    I already disabled every single plugin, logged out and back in and tried 3 different browsers (Chrome, IE, Firefox) to no remedy. Has anyone else seen this happen? I can’t figure out what I might have turned off or changed that would cause this. So now I’m all paranoid when I’m posting and I save like a thousand times. Okay, maybe just 2 or 3 extra times, but I Googled and can’t find anyone else who’s addressed this.

    Have you tried:

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.
