• After a server reboot my blog has simply stopped showing online. My server host claimed “We have denied direct root access and change the ssh port number cause of security”.

I don’t really know if this is a possible cause. I can still access ftp.

My ftp shows everything still there. I made no recent changes to content, but even the index page shows no source info. What should I do? Can this be fixed?

  • You need to ask you host why they made these changes and don’t accept ‘because of security’ as an answer. Did your blog trigger some kind of virus scanner or spam alert or… that kind of thing? Did you blog crash the server? What? Was your site, or the server, DoS-ed? You need to get more information out of them.

i asked for a reboot because things were running slow. I actually asked then just that and this was their reply:

You have opened ticket that your server was slow, To prevent hack attacks, we have configured firewall, changed SSH port configuration and rebooted the server.

Your website & FTP working fine. Moreover WordPress runs on 80 port and we did not made any changes on server so please check wordpress configuration that why its not working after a reboot.

Ok. So, do you have URL? Have you updated or installed anything lately?

not a thing. updated wordpress when everyone else got the release. did it automatically-worked fine at the time.

    my url is http://chambermusik.com/wordpress

Your site was indeed a blank page. Because your WordPress is installed in a sub-directory, I attempted to see if the root of your domain ( //chambermusik.com) was working. It is. However, this happened:

    Exploit Javascript Obfuscation :

    File name:
    /sears-com.ebay.es.weather-com.accurategenuine.ru:8080/google.com.sg/google.com.sg/jrj.com.cn/google.com/bharastudent.com/

Might or might not be a concern. May or may not be related to your wordpress troubles. But trouble just the same.

Sounds like a variant of the gumblar virus. It could have infected the WordPress files as well.

Clayton, which page did you find that in exactly. Upon checking out my code I see some strange script and am removing it from first two pages.

As for numeeja, and the virus… what can I do???

    Any help is appreciated here.
